Have you ever wanted to have a “fantasy football experience” for modeling? Now’s your chance! It is #FantasyFreeFlight! How does this work, you’re asking? And, maybe, why now?
One hundred years ago this year, 18 model airplane clubs competed in the three events that made up the 1915 National Model Aeroplane Competition, hoping to win the Henry S. Villard Trophy. We’re bringing this competition into the 21st century to celebrate its centennial.
After extensive research in Aerial Age Weekly, we’re going to be giving you the names and results of actual modelers who competed in the contest in 1915, allowing you to see if you can build a fantasy club worthy of taking home the Villard Trophy.
Follow the links below for more information on the fantasy contest structure and schedule, as well as the original structure of the 1915 National Model Aeroplane Competition. The links to the competitors and results will all be listed here as they are released.
