Kwik-Fli, Slow Build: The other build log, pt. 2

Header graphic for the Kwik-Fli, Slow Build blog series, but a different graphic for the break. This one shows a partially built B-17 kit with a red side bar.

Beppe’s taking a break from building right now, but the museum isn’t taking a break!

We’re currently sharing the work log of an unknown modeler who attempted to build a Cleveland B-17 Flying Fortress kit in 1946.

Last week he spent six hours trimming bulkheads and formers. He did that for a bit the next week, too, and then switched to sanding the kit pieces.

Scan of a "Time Card' documenting work on a Cleveland B-17 kit. This log is a graph and 4 lines are filled in for the days of 9/30, 10/1, 10/3 and 10/4 1946. Over those days the modeler spent 12 hours trimming bulkheads, sanding them, and sanding wing ribs.

And then he began notching the wing ribs and checking over the spars.

So, that’s some progress!

Follow along during the next few months to find out how far he gets!  Next post: September 1, 2019
