  1. Your sound isn’t coming through…..
Did I see a Jim Walker Fireball kit on the back counter?
Take a look at the MCLS website and the A.J. History page!

  2. Aloha Claire, Aerial services will only become more in demand in our future and a few of the aerial skills that are now learned “on the job” might become part of a training regime at the model level. For example, tanker drops of water and flame retardant from fixed wing and rotorcraft will become more in demand with climate change and the resulting increase in fires. Also, sling drops from manned and unmanned rotorcraft will increase over the same period. Since you are quite involved in the workings of the AMA, I thought that maybe you might be able to figure out a way for competitions in water drops (water balloons?) and sling drops to be included as competitions within the larger framework of AMA activities. One advantage is that these competitions could be closer to the attendees and thus more interactive for the attendees. At the same time we all benefit from the improved skill levels of AMA members. Mahalo for your time and considerations in this matter. Aloha

  3. Claire,we,here at the Snohomish Radio Aero Club in Snohomish, Washington have previously tried to get what we consider to be a rare U-control scale model (dated about 1944) of the Boeing prototype, the XF5B-1 entered into the AMA National Model Aviation Museum, but have been told that we do not have enough back ground information on the model and were turned down. The real Boeing prototype airplane was featured in Naval Aviation News, January-February 1987, and flew in
the early 1930’s. I can send another picture of the model. Even though we are a
radio control club, the club has provided for some of the members to fly U-control as well. We were wondering if you could help us get this rare model into the Museum?

  4. I have a pulsar bi plane that has never been flown. I knew Norm and was a member of the hackensack valley flyers. It has it’s original OS 60 motor . If any one is interested I will sell it for any reasonable offer.

  5. Concept is fine, but your laughing outbursts are annoying, inappropriate and very unprofessional (yes- I know you’re not really a pro). Watch out for meaningless gesturing; keep eye contact with the camera. Aim for a smooth, steady presentation.

I found the folder of documents from the 1962 World Championships very interesting.Tom Brett from the USA won first place. His airplane was the Perigee and it is hanging in the museum. I liked the official program. When you opened the cover the trophy shown is still being used as a winning team trophy. The trophy has at times been on display at AMA HQ. It returns every two years to the next Worlds and whatever team wins it keeps it till next time. USA has it right now. I follow the trophy because my name is on it 4 times when I competed and helped team USA win (75-77-79-81). You might try Googling to see if the restaurant still exists. Just a thought. Great history…thank you!

  7. YOU NEED TO PUT A REMOTE MIKE ON CLAIRE SO WE CAN HEAR WHAT SHE HAS TO SAY!!!
THE ONLY TIME YOU CAN HEAR HER CLEARLY IS WHEN YOU HAVE THE CAMERA CLOSE TO HER!!!

  8. Aloha Claire,

MATS is the name / abbreviation for “Military Air Transport Service”. So that was a rather unusual schedule you found. Just thought you might want to know for next time.

    Aloha and Drone On!
    Ken

  9. I could not understand Claire—not her fault, I’m age 93 with hearing aids. Clod captions would have helped, but I didn’t see it offered.
