More Model Aviation magazine covers from the 1940s.

THe Model Aviation cover of February 1946 was busy with an editoral, a cartoon and a headline annoucing that the Nationals would be in Chicago in July (except Chicago was too long, so it was abbrievated to "Chi!")

The April 1946 cover of Model Aviation lets the reader know that the contest rules are before the contest board.

The June 1946 cover of Model Aviation has a breaking news annoucement- the National meet will be in Wichita, KS. A hand-drawn map shows how desirable this is, and in the corner there is the most delightful drawing of a model airplane shaking its wheel with the leaf of a sunflower.

  1. I helped a lady clean out her garage and she gave me 3 RC model airplanes. I believe they were built in the 1960s and 1970s. I was told that one of the planes won the nationals on December 3, 1973, in Los Vegas NV. The owner of the plane and the pilot was Willie Wadusky. She is the lady that gave me the 3 planes. The planes are in good shape except for some hanger rash. The engines were frozen up. So I disassembled the engines and soaked them until they were free. The 3 engines are all Supertigres. I Was wondering if you have a magazine or some information on the plane that won the Nationals? I have pictures of the planes. Thank you. Henry
