New Addition: Pylon racing signalling system

Thank you to CAPS (the Canadian American Pylon Society) for donating the light system used to signal how the racing aircraft performed around the turn at the 1st pylon, and the lap counters.   Both are a great addition to the museum’s collection, helping to show development of safety practices and technology in pylon racing.

The light system consists of a large wooden box with four inset lights that was connected to a control box and powered by a 12V car battery.
This light system would have been placed at the first pylon on a model airplane pylon racing course to indicate how the aircraft rounded the pylon.

Read more on how this light system would have been used.
