The adventure begins for the RC SCA and Space Shuttle test models

Last year, the museum announced that the 1/40-scale RC Boeing 747 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft and Space Shuttle test models were going on loan to Space Center Houston to be exhibited in one of the original Shuttle Carrier Aircraft.   There have been a few delays in the project, but we’re pleased to say that the SCA and Space Shuttle test models are now officially on their way to Space Center Houston.

The SCA and Space Shuttle test models were taken apart and shipped in a large wooden crate.

The Independence Plaza exhibit featuring NASA SCA 905 and John Kiker’s test models, as well as many other exciting things, is set to open on January 23, 2016.  The test models will be placed on exhibit before this date acting as a teaser for the full exhibit.

If you are anywhere near Houston, or traveling to Houston in the future, you should make it a point to visit.
