Landing Party a success!

A great time was had by all!

The Landing Party, held on November 17, 2012 to welcome back to the museum the 1/40-scale test models of the Shuttle Carrier Aircraft and Space Shuttle from their trip to Los Angeles aboard NASA’s full-scale Shuttle Carrier Aircraft was a great success.  The party also celebrated the return of NASA research models, Mothership, X-33, and Moth, from The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.

The 1/40-scale test models of the Shuttle Carrier Aircraft and Space Shuttle, the Mothership, X-33 Drop Test Model, Moth Test Model were welcomed back to the museum in this re-designed exhibit space, which also includes the newly-arrived Spacewedge and X-38.

Visitors were able to look through a telescope with a special filter to see the sun, make and launch a model rocket, hear Robert “Hoot” Gibson and Gary Ash speak via Skype, read stories about space, as well as tour the museum and enjoy cupcakes and snacks.
