Monday – Saturday: 10am to 4pm
Summer hours: April 1 – October 31
Monday – Friday: 8am to 4:30pm
Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 10am to 4pm
The museum is closed New Year’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
During Nats the museum is open extended hours – dates are set when the schedule for Nats is known – check the museum’s website for the dates for 2012.
Nats hours:
Monday – Friday: 8am to 6pm
Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 11am to 5pm
Please call ahead to confirm holiday and special event/tour hours.
The hours are being changed to make better use of staff time in the slow, cold winter months. Having the museum – and by default the museum store – closed in the morning means that the retail department staff member does not have to be up front and can work in the back filling catalog and web orders. It also means that exhibit work can be completed without having to worry about someone tripping over a cord, or running into the scaffolding.
If you are thinking ahead to your visit on the way to/from the Toledo show in Ohio – we already have that covered. Luckily, this year the Toledo show falls when we are on the summer hours. If it ever falls when we are still on the winter hours, we will make a special exemption for that weekend.
