The District 5 Air Fest was held October 26th-28th in Statesboro Georgia. The Ogeechee Aeromasters won a contest held by District 5 Vice President Jose Soto to be able to host the event. The event was held at Posser Field. The owners of the field Blois and Helen Posser were on hand to help with anything and everything. They opened their onsite hobby shop for pilots and spectators to shop. The Posser’s did many renovations to the field in preparation for the event. They built new wheel chair accessible bathrooms, put concrete under the pavilion, and installed several new RV hook ups. Jose Soto presented the Posser’s with an award to show his appreciation for their work and dedication to the AMA. The district also presented one young flyer a scholarship to attend Camp AMA this summer. We look forward to having Adam attend camp in June. Over 90 pilots registered to fly at the event. Spectators were treated to flight demonstrations by Verne Horne, Matt Botos, and Mac Hodges. Congratulations to everyone who helped make this a great event!
