During Camp AMA this year the instructors thought it would be a fun idea to have a scratch build contest using some surprise materials, pizza boxes! Papa Johns of Muncie, IN sponsored our camp lunches and our build contest this year. The campers were put into teams and given the same electronics, pizza boxes, and a few sheets of foam board. The teams went crazy coming up with their own designs using the pizza boxes. Spot landing, combat, and best use of marketing materials were just a few of the things judged. Each camper got a chance to pilot the plane for a portion of the contest. The instructors judged and it was just too close to call. All of the teams won jackets provided by the instructors. The campers really enjoyed building and flying their own planes and have requested to try it again next year. A special thanks Papa Johns of Muncie, IN.
