New Addition: Hitech Ranger

Many thanks to Donald Sudbury, who donated this Hitech Ranger 2 channel AM system in its original packaging to the museum recently.  Mr. Sudbury, made the donation in memory of his father, Allen Sudbury, AMA number 22806.

The brigh pink neon "II" dominates the black box of the Ranger packaging. The transmitter, receiver and servos are all ordinary in comparison to that.
Hitech Ranger II Radio Control System, in its original packaging.

Thanks for helping us grow the collection!

  1. I feel honored that I was able to contribute to the AMA Museum. Making the donation in memory of my dad is also special since he was an AMA member for years flying control line and later getting into RC. I remember his trials an tribulations in the early 60’s as radio systems evolved. It seemed appropriate that I make the donation in his name for a hobby he loved. He got me started when I turned 6 and we never looked back. Thank-you for accepting the donation and helping me honor my dad.

  2. It’s cool to see this go to the museum in honor of my grandfather. Just like a block this will be treasured by many people young and old. Just like my father I to learned some in and out of this great hobby. Thanks again for this honor.
