Thank you! and NMAM Year-in-Review

Here’s a few numbers relating to the museum in 2016:

There’s been:
35 donations of photographs and scrapbooks and documents to the museum’s archives
21 donations of books and magazines for library
11 donations of plans to the plans collection
39 donations of kits and airplanes and radio control equipment and engines totaling 112 individual objects to the museum’s artifact collection

One of the best donations to the National Model Aviation Museum in 2016 was this scrapbook of early modeling experiences of Ralph W. Kummer.

All of those numbers don’t add up to the true number of stories that were donated.  Stories of individuals and friendships; of competitions and fun-flys; of that one perfect flight, and that one rather spectacular crash; of late nights trying to find tiny parts, and of the satisfaction of finishing a project.  Modeler’s stories.  Your story.

The museum tells your story.  Thank you for letting us do so.

All of the artifacts donated to the museum in 2016 can be seen in this video.

Follow along with the donations in 2017 by keeping an eye on the New Addition category on the blog!

Thank you everyone!
