Museum staff members Michael Smith and Dillon Carpenter had a lot of fun on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at TEAMwork for Quality Living’s Dreamfest fundraiser. Billed as an “experience festival,” Dreamfest encouraged participants to find and enjoy new hobbies. Provided experiences included working with clay & creating art, belly-dancing, and bike riding! (See pictures from the local Star Press here.)
And, of course model aviation. The museum showcased all that modeling has to offer, to include:
Flight demonstrations of quadcopters, Blade helicopters and Vapors. Demonstrations were provided by Michael Smith, the Museum Director, as well as Brandon Mundell of Toys Forever Model and Hobbies here in Muncie.
A static model display.
Flight simulators.
Make and Take FPG-9’s.
Designing cones and flying the in the vertical wind tunnel. The vertical wind tunnel was especially well-received. Children (and adults!) love perfecting the shape of their cone so that it flies up and out of the wind tunnel, or racing their cone against a friend’s.
Thanks to TEAMwork for Quality Living for hosting Dreamfest and all the work they do in the community to empower and provide resources for those living in poverty. The museum was proud to take part in Dreamfest and is already looking forward to next year!
