What Do You Have to Donate?

Do you have a model that you think should be in the National Model Aviation Museum?  The museum wants to know about it!  The next meeting of the Acquisition Committee, the group that reviews and votes on donations of model airplanes, is July 30, 2014.

That leaves plenty of time to complete an Artifact Submission Form, (https://www.modelaircraft.org/files/804.pdf) take some pictures, and send them to Museum Collections Manager Maria VanVreede for the committee’s consideration.  If possible, please get the forms and information to Maria by July 15, 2014.

A handwritten submission form complete with picture.

Models will not be reviewed without a Submission Form and submitting a form does not guarantee acceptance.  The Committee’s job is to evaluate the submitted models and decide which fit into our already large collection.

The museum is specifically looking for the items on our wish list:  https://www.modelaircraft.org/museum/wishlist.aspx

If you have other modeling items like kits, engines, radio equipment and memorabilia, these are reviewed by museum staff and not the committee.  Simply write up a description and send some pictures to Maria and she’ll let you know whether or not they are needed.

A bright green Micro Avionics radio transmitter , a black OS Reed transmitter, and a gray Digitimate 8 transmitter surround a small, light blue Webra transmitter.

Want to know more?  There’s some FAQ on the process here:  https://www.modelaircraft.org/museum/donations.aspx.  A step-by-step guide here:  https://www.modelaircraft.org/museum/guide.aspx, or you can just get in touch with Maria at mariav@modelaircraft.org, or (765) 287-1256, ext. 508.
