For the past two years, Scott Cheslik has been spending an inordinate amount of time with Miss Shirley, but his wife Sharon doesn’t mind.
Miss Shirley, after all, is a model airplane.
Not just any model airplane, though. The blue and yellow beauty with the more than eight-foot wingspan, which Cheslik painstakingly built, is a copy of the very first control-line model ever constructed, one made by Oba St. Clair in 1937 and named after his then 2-year-old daughter, Shirley.
