EAA’s AirVenture Oshkosh, taking place from July 22-28, 2024, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, will be celebrating its 71st year. This event, renowned as the world’s largest annual gathering of aircraft and aviation enthusiasts, attracts over 600,000 attendees.
AMA volunteers and staff will be present at several locations to introduce attendees to the exciting world of model aviation.
Several teams from across the US will compete in the National Finals for AMA’s UAS4STEM.
KidVenture will host model-building activities and Control Line flying.
RC evening flying, sponsored by Wing, will occur behind the EAA Aviation Museum each evening from Monday through Saturday during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh. Wing will hold demonstrations on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at 6:30 p.m.
Evening flying is open to all. AMA members can bring and fly their own aircraft if it complies with EAA’s policy. If you don’t have an aircraft, you can sign up for an introductory flight on the AeroScout trainer airplane provided by Horizon Hobby. Non-members can also sign up for a free introductory flight with an instructor.
The EAA Blue Barn will introduce EAA chapters to the EAA Young Eagles Build and Fly program.
The AMA Model Aviation Experience, sponsored by Wing, will be stationed along the main flightline, just down from the ultralights.
