In preparation for the upcoming Super Bowl LX on February 8, the FAA has issued a series of flight restrictions and guidelines for both unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) as well as full-scale operations. These restrictions will increase in the days leading up to the event and can be viewed at the FAA’s website with exact details available within the published Flight Advisory.
Any AMA members in the area should familiarize themselves with the timeline and locations included and exercise extreme caution when operating. Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) will be issued in the days leading up to February 8 and may have frequent edits or reissues, meaning that it is extremely important for RC pilots in the vicinity to consistently review the FAA’s TFR list before operating.
AMA will send email notifications to members within the affected areas but encourages members to reach out prior to operating if they are unsure if restrictions apply to their area.
