AMA Supports H.R. 6841 – Minorities in Aviation Act

The Congressional Black Caucus and the Congressional office of Representative Henry “Hank” Johnson from Georgia’s 4th Congressional District recently reached out asking for AMA’s support of H.R. 6841, the Minorities in Aviation Education Act, which establishes grants to increase the exposure of students who are underrepresented in aviation.

AMA believes model aviation to be a pivotal steppingstone to careers in aeronautics and aerospace sciences and shares the goal of germinating interest and encouraging the participation of young adults in aviation-related fields, especially underrepresented segments in our society such as women and minorities. AMA believes H.R.6841 is a great step in the right direction. AMA is honored to support H.R. 6841 and is happy to act as a resource once it has passed.
