The 2025 Nats has arrived at the International Aeromodeling Center– (1:55)
Matt and Lee are joined by Terry Dunn live on location from week one of the 2025 National Aeromodeling Championships (Nats) taking place at the International Aeromodeling Center in Muncie, IN. Terry discusses his first time impressions of the Nats, having never attended before, and Lee goes over the social media coverage to come for this year’s competition. Club of the Month – (13:05)
The Club of the Month for July is the Utah Valley Aeromodelers (UVA). UVA is an AMA Gold Leader club located in Saratoga Springs, Utah. Their flying field is part of the Saratoga Springs Parks Department on the north side of Utah Lake. They currently have over 150 members and enjoy a wide range of flying disciplines including RC, control line, helicopters, float flying, jets, soaring, cars, and more. Jordan River Model Port was established in 1987 and now includes: (2) asphalt runways & taxiways, control line circle, large covered pavilion, bleachers, work benches & tables, large parking lot, access and a lovely view. The club has an active Intro Pilot Program for new pilots and has hosted Take-off and Grow (TAG) events for the community.
IFlyAMA Facebook Group – (14:27)
The IFlyAMA Facebook group is an online community for sharing useful tips, discussing model aviation news, and showing off your recent builds! A contest is held every month to determine the cover photo for the Facebook group. This month’s winning photo was submitted by Sherry Johnson which featured her grandson, Owen, and his 540 Edge out at the Central Carolina RC Modelers in Randleman, North Carolina.
AMA Foundation “Fly More, Mow Less” Sweepstakes – (17:03)
The AMA Foundation also announced the “Fly More, Mow Less” sweepstakes. Contributions to the sweepstakes will go toward the AMA Foundation Club Support Fund. These funds aid model aviation clubs across the country in a variety of ways, including disaster relief, flying site improvements, and introducing the public to the hobby. AirVenture Preview – (17:44)
The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA)’s AirVenture takes place in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and is Renowned as the world’s largest gathering of full-scale aircraft and aviation enthusiasts, AirVenture attracts more than 600,000 attendees. The event takes place from July 21-27, 2025. AMA will have a presence at the event, providing model aviation flying opportunities, speakers, and the Model Aviation Experience sponsored by Wing. Also taking place at AirVenture is the National Finals for AMA’s UAS4STEM drone competition. Learn more about AMA’s participation at AirVenture in this blog post!
Model Aviation Month – (20:00)
National Model Aviation Day is expanding to Model Aviation Month! AMA Clubs are encouraged to take part in the festivities by holding their own events promoting model aviation in their communities throughout the month of August!
Zap Glue Giveaway – (21:12)
The AMA has partnered with Zap Glue to produce a video series detailing the entire Zap Glue product lineup to showcase which adhesives work best for your unique model building projects. As part of this partnership, Zap Glue is also conducting a giveaway for viewers of AMA Air to win a prize pack of assorted glues. To enter the giveaway, you must watch this month’s AMA Air episode on YouTube and leave a comment on the YouTube video using the phrase “AMABuild”. The giveaway runs through July 31st 2025 and the winner will be announced on the August episode of AMA Air!
