AMA Announces Commercial Drone Insurance Exclusively for AMA Members

The Academy of Model Aeronautics is now serving the commercial drone community and pilots by offering membership benefits for those who fly for business. Now AMA members can purchase commercial drone insurance at a special low rate.

Our new commercial drone insurance is a natural extension of our member benefits and comes at a time when the commercial drone industry is growing fast. Many of our members are flying drones commercially, or plan to do so soon, and have been asking AMA to provide commercial drone insurance as a membership benefit.”

AMA’s new commercial drone insurance member benefit is not supported by your AMA dues. It’s separate from our recreation flying insurance that you automatically receive as an AMA member. It’s an affinity program with the insurance purchase between you and the insurance company directly, and not the AMA.

The following levels of insurance liability coverage are available. Coverage above $2,000,000 is available. Optional hull coverage is available for up to $10,000 per drone.

$500,000 $1,000,000 $2,000,000

Liability insurance includes $250,000 personal injury for each occurrence and $1,000 medical expenses for each person.
