UAS4STEM Registration
The Academy of Model Aeronautics is excited to announce that registration for the 2026 UAS4STEM season is officially open. This nationwide drone competition invites middle and high school students to explore the world of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) through hands-on STEM learning and real-world challenges.
Whether you’re a returning team or new to the program, UAS4STEM offers an incredible opportunity to design, build, program, and fly a drone while developing essential skills in engineering, coding, teamwork, and problem-solving. With Beginner and Advanced divisions available, teams of all experience levels can participate and grow. Plus, the virtual format allows teams to compete from anywhere in the world.
New teams can apply for financial assistance that covers most of the registration fee and includes a drone kit to get started.

Advanced Division
- 1st Place: $2,500, trophy, individual medals, individual certificates, Skydio 2+ Pro drone
- 2nd Place: $2,000, trophy, individual medals, individual certificates, Skydio 2+ Pro drone
- 3rd Place: $1,500, trophy, individual medals, individual certificates
Beginner Division
- 1st Place: $1,250, trophy, individual medals, individual certificates, Skydio 2+ Pro drone
- 2nd Place: $1,000, trophy, individual medals, individual certificates
- 3rd Place: $750, trophy, individual medals, individual certificates
Special Recognition
- Dewey O. Broberg Jr. Award: $500
- All participating students receive individual certificates
Key Dates for the 2026 Season
- Funding assistance application deadline: October 13, 2025
- Team manager meetings: Second Monday of each month at 7:00 PM ET (Starting September 8th, 2026)
- Registration deadline: January 12, 2026 (early registration encouraged)
- Virtual preliminary competition: April 14–29, 2026
- Championship competition (by invitation): July 20–22, 2026 at AirVenture in Oshkosh, WI
This program not only enhances technical knowledge but also fosters creativity, collaboration, and leadership. Teams will engage with mentors, connect with peers, and have the chance to compete at a national level.
