What exactly is a Facebook Hop you may wonder?
A Hop is a way to digitally connect individuals by taking them through multiple linked (tagged) Facebook pages/profiles. A group of people sign on to participate in the Hop by posting a themed piece of content to their Facebook newsfeed and connecting that post to another participant by tagging his or her page. The #AMAHop is a way showcase how the model aviation community stays engaged in our hobby while experiencing stay-at-home orders and restrictions due to COVID-19.
We asked several AMA members, retailers, and hobby shops to create short videos showing how they are able to enjoy model aviation while under current restrictions. These videos were connected by tagging profiles and using the hashtags #AMAHop and #RCfromhome, which was created by Horizon Hobby as the company is also working to keep aeromodeling alive and active in our current situation.
Please enjoy the videos below and tell us how you’re enjoying your hobby on social media using #AMAHop and #RCfromhome!

One of the projects I’m working on while social distancing is the restoration of this Kyosho Duet…an early-generation electric ARF. Let’s look at some of the 1980s-vintage equipment!

Hey everyone! We’re participating in the AMA Facebook Hop! We are still “social distancing,” but all of our RCing is being done at the warehouse instead of at home since Greg keeps all of his toys there. I’m definitely not a videographer as you can tell (much better at being a photographer!), but here’s a look at what he’s working on and getting ready to fly (if the weather and other things ever cooperate!)! I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m thinking there are going to be some pretty fantastic builds out there flying when all of this is said and done!
After viewing our video, check out what Hayley Carter, AKA RC Girl, is doing at www.facebook.com/thercgirl/! #amahop #rcfromhome

RAYviation – AMA Hop / RC from Home
With most of us being told to stay home, this gives some of us a time to get back to “model building” and finish up projects that have been collecting dust. Keep following RC Facebook pages, RC YouTube channels, and the RC Roundtable Podcast to get ideas and stay informed with today’s RC news.
A big shout-out to Academy of Model Aeronautics for putting this #AMAHop and #rcfromhome suggestion out there to keep us united. We’ll get through this!

Great feature. Thanks Jay and looking forward to that May issue!
I’m slow at getting to this “Hop” but glad I finally got around ‘tuit’. Interesting to see what each of you’re doing, I know I need to be doing quite a lot myself in straightening out my shop – I would hate to show a picture of it. So, thanks for the short shots.
