The AMA Government Affairs team recently spent a week in Washington, D.C., having congressional meetings to discuss 2023 FAA Reauthorization. While on Capitol Hill, the team had the opportunity to sit down with Congressman Rudy Yakym, the Vice Chairman of the House Aviation Subcommittee. The Congressman is an avid supporter of model aviation and has been vocal about his belief that laws regarding model aircraft operations need recalibrated. We discussed current issues and possible solutions for the upcoming reauthorization bill. Our team looks forward to continuing our relationship with Congressman Yakym as we work toward reducing the restrictions on the model aviation community.
