The FAA recently made an update notifying visitors about the application process for FAA-Recognized Identification Areas (FRIAs) on the Drone Zone website.
As you can see in the above image, the FAA has yet to officially release the process for clubs to apply for FRIA status. When the process is released, AMA will notify our members and plans to apply for FRIA status on behalf of our clubs. Be sure to monitor your email, AMA social media, Model Aviation magazine, and our other channels of communication.
Additionally, the address of the website has changed. It is now www.faadronezone-access.faa.gov. However, if you use the old www.faadronezone.faa.gov, it will still work and you will be redirected to the updated website address.
