Senator Inhofe’s Son Killed in a Plane Crash

Oklahoma Sen. Jim Inhofe’s son, Perry Inhofe, died Sunday in a plane crash.

Dr. Perry Inhofe, a 52-year-old orthopedic surgeon, died when the Mitsubishi MU-2B-25 he was piloting crashed near Owasso, a Tulsa suburb.

The members of the Academy of Model Aeronautics offer our condolences and sincere sympathies to Senator James Inhofe and family on the death of their son,

Sen. Inhofe (R-OK) is a strong advocate for the aviation community and very much a friend to model aviation and the Academy of Model Aeronautics. Sen. Inhofe was the primary sponsor of the amendment to the FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012 which ultimately became the “Special Rule for Model Aircraft” exempting aeromodeling from federal regulation when conducted within the programming of a community-based organization.
