The Last Flying B-24 Bomber (Collings Foundation)

Carlsbad, CA gets a visit from the only flying B-24 Liberator *bomber*  left anywhere in the world of the roughly 18,000 built. (There is one cargo B-24 flying.) The B-24 was WWII’s most widely used big bomber and was notably involved in the infamous Ploesti raid. This is the Collings Foundation’s B-24, Witchcraft.

  1. Rich, the oldest flying B-24 is the B-24A “Diamond Lil” based at the Cavanaugh Flight Museum at Addison TX airport with the B-29 “Fifi”. They are operated by the Commemorative Air Force B-29/B-24 (cafb29b24.org) squadron.
