AOPA’s UAS and the National Airspace System Online Course

AOPA’s UAS and the National Airspace System Online Course

Looking to learn more about the commercial and public use world of Unmanned Aircraft Systems and the issues involved in integrating UAS into the national airspace?

AOPA has developed an online course aimed at debunking the myths and creating an awareness within general aviation regarding the issues involved in integrating UAS into the manned aircraft environment.

This course provides pilots with answers to…

What are unmanned aircraft systems (UAS)? Are they safe? How will they affect your flying? In this course, we’ll go behind the scenes of UAS operations and explore various scenarios to illustrate how you and UAS can safely coexist in our National Airspace System.

A free online registration in AOPA’s Air Safety Institute is required to access the course. Much of the information provided in the course is part of the ongoing discussion going as far back as the Aviation Rulemaking Committee convened in 2008. Keep in mind that specific mentions in terms of size, weight, altitude, etc. are merely conceptual and don’t necessarily reflect FAA’s evolving approach to UAS.
