This year, AMA will celebrate several significant milestone events. The 100th running of the National Aeromodeling Championships (Nats) sponsored by Du-Bro begins July 5. This is the 30th year the Nats has been held at the IAC in Muncie, Indiana.
On July 6-7, 1996, unique event called the Celebration of Eagles was featured at the Nats. The first Celebration of Eagles was an event unlike any other in AMA’s history. It was destined to be remembered by those who attended as the greatest gathering of the legends, innovators, and leaders in the organization and hobby.
Although two similar events followed in subsequent years, the first celebration drew the most people—all legends and mentors to the thousands of members they inspired throughout the decades. A video of the event has been digitized and is now available to view on YouTube.
