This is a busy year for the US in Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) competition. US teams will participate in five world championships.
The first one is the F3J World Championship for Model Gliders in Elverum, Norway, July 28 through August 4.
Second is the F1ABP Junior World Championship for Free Flight Model Aircraft in Prilep, North Macedonia, August 6-10.
Third is the F4 World Championship for Scale Model Aircraft in Strejnic, Romania, August 10-17.
Fourth is the F2 World Championships for Control Line Model Aircraft at the International Aermodeling Center (IAC) in Muncie, Indiana, August 12-17.
International competition ends in November in the US, with the F5B World Championship for Electric Model Gliders in Maricopa, Arizona, November 8-15.
It is often said that competition drives innovation. Such has been the case for model aviation for decades.
We wish the best for all the competitors, their managers, and supporters, knowing the effort it takes to field an international team and all the logistics that accompany that process, especially for those teams traveling overseas.
Go Team USA!
