Chuck Yeager Aviation Day took place on September 28th, 2024, at Jackson County Airport in Millwood, WV.
Jackson County Airport is home to the General Chuck Yeager EAA Chapter 1336. The EAA Chapter provided breakfast and were scheduled to give young eagle rides for the youth in attendance. The Young Eagle rides were postponed to the following Saturday due to weather.
The Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) brought the AMA Model Aviation Experience Sponsored by Wing to give attendees a model aviation experience with RC flight simulators running Realflight Evolution.
Once they got some time on the sticks they were encouraged to move onto a training flight with an instructor.
Several AMA members were on hand to provide intro flights. Over 100 attendees got an introductory flight with an instructor, including our host, Victoria Yeager!
