Center Grove High School RC Flying Club
I am a teacher sponsor for the Center Grove High School RC Flying Club. We host Indoor flying events throughout the winter months as a fundraiser for the students. I’d love to share a little more information about this and also invite you to Greenwood, Indiana, for these events. Our next large event is a full swap meet in the worming, a raffle at 11 a.m., then Indoor flying from 12-4 p.m. on February 28, 2026! We’ll also have other Indoor flying events in April and May. Please let me know if you have any questions about this!
Thank you,

Glastonbury High School
- In response to your latest e-newsletter, we’ve been hosting Indoor Free Flight flying at the Glastonbury High School, Glastonbury, Connecticut, for more than 50 years. Each year, we host two full-day contests, the Mid-Winter Madness and the Spring Fling.
I’ve been publishing videos of these events on my YouTube channel for several years now. Here’s two examples for the January 2026 Mid-Winter Madness and the April 2025 Spring Fling.

We started Indoor flying last year, and it has been growing ever since! We get to fly at an indoor soccer field about 1 mile from our club field. It was started by simply stopping in and asking persistently if we could give it a trial run of a month. After finally getting a yes and setting up a schedule and price, we have proven we are responsible and a good fit for the facility.
We charge $10 per day to fly, or it’s free to watch or try it out. The $10 goes to the facility and we only take donations back to the club, which has paid for the added insurance and costs to supply safety equipment. We have had over 12 different clubs’ members, and as many as 30 people, there on one day to fly. The facility now allows us to fly Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m to 2 p.m., and Fridays from 5-9 p.m.
It has been a great way to beat the cold weather, keep skills sharp, and keep in touch with and make new friends in the hobby. Some are learning to fly in there, taking advantage of the controlled environment and slower speed aircraft we tend to use. We fly anything from the little night vapor to some bigger 32-inch plus foam aerobatic airplanes and drones. Most fly nice, easy UMX airplanes by E-flite and many variations of Cubs, but the 4D flying and 3D flying is also quite prevalent. We are having a great time there and invite anyone in the area to stop by and see if the Indoor flying bug catches them too!

I am the VP of the club and proud member of the Fremont RC Flyers. I hope you all are having a great winter season so far and can find some indoor flying too.
