Indianapolis RC South will host its 28th Annual Fly-In for Diabetes on Saturday, September 14th, from 10am-5pm. All proceeds from this event will go to the American Diabetes Association.
This event is open to the public and admission is free. There will be candy drops for the kids and concessions will be available. We encourage area RC pilots to “show their stuff” by doing demonstration flights or just come and fly during the open flying sessions. Please contact our Air Boss, John Gaither (jgaither@comcast.net – 317-439-4102), or Contest Director, Duane Wright (wrightdd@comcast.net – 317-797-8691) if you would like a demonstration time slot. They would also like for ALL pilots to fill out a Pilot Info form (see attached). Even if you don’t want to fly, we would still like for you to bring some nice models out for display and enjoy the show. As with any event of this magnitude, we will need volunteers to help in several areas: If you’d be willing to help with concessions, please contact Fred Whatley (fkwhatley@aol.com – 317-777-1446). In addition to grill meisters, we will also need folks to take & prep food/drink orders and cashier. We’re also asking club members to bring homemade baked goods for the concession area, wrapped/bagged in single serving sizes. We will also need help greeting folks as they arrive at the gate and helping to direct/park vehicles. If you can help with this, contact Bob Badger (r_badger@comcast.net – 317-888-4169). Bob will also need help setting up the field on Friday afternoon/evening, so please contact him if you can help. There will be several raffles, including a ride in a full-sized glider.
