Littleton, CO — HeliStorm 2025, a 501(c)(3) based in the Denver metro area, is pleased to announce that it has secured three sponsors to fund the STEM school scholarships the organization is planning to award at its event. HeliStorm 2025 will take place from May 29-June1, 2025 on the front grounds of the National Museum of the United States Air Force.

“Our mission is to bring STEM schools and aviation industry professionals together at a historic venue with scale RC helicopters at center stage,” said Michael Kranitz, the creator of the event. STEM schools in the Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati areas can earn a cash scholarship simply by sending the most students to the event, which is free for them and the general public to attend. The top school will take down $2,500 to fund the school’s science and engineering programs. School administrators and faculty will have the opportunity to meet with aviation industry professionals to understand how they can work together to advance interest in, and career paths toward, the aviation industry at large.

The event looks to attract more than 100 scale helicopter pilots and 200+ models from all parts of the world, along with major industry suppliers and members of the full scale aviation industry. Pilots will be treated to a truly unique experience from the moment they check-in at the event. HeliStorm will feature a massive, air-conditioned pilot lounge that will host workshops throughout the event. Pilots will be treated to an after-hours, private tour of the museum following a fully catered awards banquet and auction, all while surrounded by dozens of vintage aircraft in one of the museum four massive hangars. Kranitz expects full media coverage of the event, which he says is “key to raising awareness among members of the public.”

“HeliStorm 2025 aligns with our vision to unite peer organizations and grow the aviation industry from the ground up,” said Amy Spowart, President and CEO, National Aeronautic Association. “We are excited to work with HeliStorm and view it as a game-changer. Airsports, and aero modeling in particular, serve as a gateway to aviation. They are a unique and effective way to grow interest in both the RC hobby and aviation at large.”

Dave Millner, former president of IRCHA, heads up logistics for the event. The IRCHA Jamboree routinely attracted more than a thousand pilots annually during Millner’s tenure.
