During AirVenture 2023, a couple of Purdue University representatives, including the president of aviation programming, stopped by the AMA simulator trailer and asked if AMA would be interested in bringing the trailer to Purdue Aviation Day and Aviation Community Day.
AMA attended Purdue Aviation Day back in April. It was a great, well-attended experience , and AMA staff were very busy introducing folks to AMA and model aviation.
Aviation Community Day was held July 13, 2024, at the Vincennes Aviation Technology Center at the Indianapolis International Airport, a partnership between Vincennes University and Purdue. Those who attended agreed that it’s a very impressive facility.
AMA staff in attendance included Mark Benson, Kenny Cassidy, and Hunter Saling. They had several conversations with parents who watched their kids become interested in something new, something that the parents saw as a worthwhile investment. Twenty-seven people provided contact information to AMA.
Purdue brought their “people-mover train,” which loaded and unloaded guests near the AMA trailer. This led to wave after wave of attendees starting their experience with AMA. It was a diverse crowd; there was a big age range taking in all that was offered.
