The AMA Model Aviation Hall of Fame has recognized AMA members for their outstanding contributions to the hobby of model aviation since 1969. Every year, various AMA members are nominated by their family and friends. These nominees are evaluated by AMA on their developmental and administrative accomplishments, volunteering efforts, and presence at competitions. AMA is excited to announce that the following six individuals were inducted into the 2024 AMA Model Aviation Hall of Fame class: Bruce Tharpe, Curtis Kitteringham, Dr. Larry Fogel, Gordon Larson, Jim Monaco, and John Kukon.
Look for more information about the 2024 inductees in the February issue of Model Aviation magazine.
Nominations for the 2025 Model Aviation Hall of Fame class are due by March 31, 2025. More information about the program can be found here. Perhaps you know someone worthy of being considered for this prestigious honor.

This is the opportunity for the AMA to shine. Involvement in this issue of the unknown origin of the Very Large DRONES and could take a lot of bad publicity from the law abiding hobbyists. This situation is not making us look good. AMA please do some damage control for us and let the Public know that this isn’t the good hobbyist causing these kind of problems that are being talked about in the news.
Thank you for your comment on the AMA blogs. We appreciate your input! Please note the AMA did publish a blog in response to the drone sightings here: https://amablog.modelaircraft.org/amagov/2024/12/20/temporary-flight-restrictions-issued-for-uas-activity-in-select-areas-of-new-jersey/?_gl=1*9zq1lh*_gcl_au*MTIxMzQxMDU4Ny4xNzI4NDA1OTU2&_ga=2.8240690.1032555275.1734982571-498202333.1637590354
