As reported by the Dayton Daily News…
MOOREFIELD TWP, Clark County — A Clark County man flying a drone was arrested Saturday for allegedly hindering the landing of a medical helicopter for a serious accident.
Kele M. Stanley, 31, of Moorefield Twp. was arrested Saturday, April 12th, on suspicion of obstructing official business and disorderly conduct. According to the news report, Stanley was flying his unmanned aircraft at the scene of a serious motor vehicle accident and refused to land when instructed to do so by law enforcement.
This incidence adds to what is becoming a long list of incidents where unmanned aircraft are found to be operating in an unofficial capacity at the scene of law enforcement activity and civil emergencies. Occurrences such as this are prompting the development of state legislation and local ordinates aimed at restricting the use of this technology within our communities. Such legislation has the unfortunate potential for curtailing the legitimate use of this technology and negatively impacting the greater recreational aeromodeling community.
