Expert Panel Discusses National Airspace Issues at AMA EXPO

AMA conducted a panel discussion at the AMA Expo in January 2014 that focused on operations, including FPV and semi-autonomous flight, in the National Airspace System. Moderated by AMA President Bob Brown, the panel included Jim Williams, Executive Manager of the FAA’s Unmanned Aircraft Systems Integration Office, Michael Tuscano, CEO of the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), and Rich Hanson, AMA’s Government and Regulatory Affairs Representative. Topics of interest included model aviation in the NAS, where the commercial, personal use platforms will fit within the new rules, and what the future holds.
