CONGRESSMAN WOODALL VISITS LOCAL CUMMING UAV SUPPLIER
(CUMMING, GA) – Representative Rob Woodall (GA-7) recently made a visit to the AtlantaHobby.com warehouse and retail showroom located in Cumming off of Bethelview road. Atlantahobby.com has become one of the nations fastest and largest UAV suppliers, as well as one of the largest hobby outlets for family fun which includes remote controlled Airplanes, Cars and Helicopters.
Rob Woodall, a Republican Congressman, was elected into the US Congress upon the retirement of Representative John Linder in 2010. Woodall is known as a prominent advocate of the FairTax. He is a member of the House budget Committee, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and sits on the powerful House Committee on Rules. The Congressman was visiting at the request of Atlanta Hobby President Cliff Whitney.
The purpose of the store visit was to meet the staff, and tour the three business, (Atlanta Hobby, Mercury Adhesives and RC Radio Network), which are all owned by Mr. Whitney. Even in a down economy, the Atlanta Hobby business has grown very rapidly, hitting all time sales records in June and hiring multiple new staff members this year. With YTD sales showing 200% growth, Atlanta Hobby continues to look for new associates.
Atlanta Hobby is the fastest growing hobby specialty shop and the nations largest supplier of small scale aerial photography helicopters. These prosumer multi rotor helicopters are creating an abundance of job opportunities in Georgia. They are used for fun as well as enable municipalities, such as the Fire and Police departments, to save lives. They also allow businesses to get unique views of real-estate, agriculture and they enable independent film makers, in addition to major motion picture studios, to get those unique shots we all love to see.
With the Congressman being a strong supporter of Georgia’s small businesses, the discussion included the the proposed Internet sales tax, the effect of big box retail stores along with the legislation on the use of small-unmanned aerial vehicles and other topics affecting small business growth.
Cliff Whitney stated, “It’s was nice to have a congressman come to visit. Mr. Woodall is easy to talk to and a great representative to both our company and to Georgia. He understands the effects that the big government has on all of us, including small business and I appreciate that he is taking time to get out in to the community to meet with businesses like ours”.
