President George W. Bush speaks at West Michigan Aviation Academy fundraiser

Original Post: The Republic, Columbus, Indiana The Annual Leaders of Tomorrow Gala, West Michigan Aviation Academy’s premiere fundraising event of the year, was held on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at a hangar on the grounds of Gerald R. Ford International Airport. This year’s event included special guest, former President George W. Bush who was the keynote speaker. The fundraiser was held to raise the funds necessary to hold yearly events including Navigator’s camp, aviation related capstone events, incentive flights, simulators, and flight training. More than 850 people attended the sold-out event. West Michigan Aviation Academy is a tuition-free public charter high school founded by Amway heir and 2006 GOP gubernatorial candidate Dick DeVos. The school opened in 2010 and is located on the grounds of the Gerald R. Ford International Airport.
