The Academy established a program in the mid-1960s for local AMA members to join together as a group and secure use of private, commercial or public property for flying sites. This was structured under the concept of organized groups, which were identified as AMA Chartered Clubs. Today, the Academy provides liability coverage to approximately 2,400 chartered clubs throughout the United States.
Casa Grande RC Flyers named as an AMA Gold Level Leader Club
Congratulations to the members and leadership of the Casa Grande RC Flyers on being named as one of AMA’s Gold Level Leader Clubs. The club received the club award at the Casa Grande City Council meeting from AMA Associate Vice President Alan Friedman. Friedman thanked the city for its trust in the club and for leasing the Casa Grande RC Flyers the land for their flying field five years ago.
The Casa Grande RC Flyers received this AMA honor earlier this month, making them one of only 151 clubs out of over 2,400 in the nation to earn this award. It is awarded to a select few clubs to “acknowledge their contributions to the hobby of aeromodeling and their community.”
