State of Tennessee Proclaims August 16 as Model Aviation Day

The Academy of Model Aeronautics is pleased to announce that the state of Tennessee has declared August 16, 2014, as Model Aviation Day. Thank you to Anthony K. Hall and the members of the Johnson City Radio Controllers for submitting the application for this proclamation.

National Model Aviation Day has been established by the Academy of Model Aeronautics—the country’s foremost organization for model aviation—to celebrate the history of model aviation and to promote the hobby on a national scale. The Academy’s new foundation, the AMA Foundation, will celebrate Indiana Model Aviation Day at its national headquarters in Muncie IN, along with AMA chartered clubs across the country.

Each of the participating clubs will promote model aviation and the many benefits of participating in the hobby. This nationwide event will also serve as a fundraiser to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. This organization aims to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members. 1. Glad to see some recognition for a great hobby. I hate to see kids sitting in the house pushing buttons on a computer all day. Get out side do something.
Keep up the good work all
