Radio-controlled plane fans have heads in the clouds

By Flori Meeks

Stuart Rush doesn’t mind when people tell him his head’s in the clouds.

As a radio-controlled airplane enthusiast, that description is true some days.

“The flying ranges from sheer terror to a lot of fun,” the Spring resident said.

Rush is president of the Northwest Houston Radio Control Club, which comprises about 70 area residents with the same love for radio-controlled aircraft. The group started meeting in the mid-1970s and officially incorporated in 1981.
