AMA will begin mailing the 2024 Club Charter renewal information in January. Please remember that the documents will be mailed to the designated club officer contact. If your club renews online before January 2, 2024, your club will not receive a mailed renewal package.
Current charter and flying site insurance certificate(s) are in effect until March 31, 2024, but we encourage clubs to renew well ahead of time. We received a lot of positive feedback from club officers who used our online club rechartering tool last year. It’s simple, easy, and quick.
For those unfamiliar with the process, take a moment to review the Club Charter Renewal Tutorial video, and then renew your club’s charter online.
To help offset costs, in addition to an increased need for resources to assist our clubs with FAA-Recognized Identification Areas (FRIAs), we had to make some tough decisions.
We have encountered a declining interest for club officer pins. Purchasing a lower number of pins drastically decreases the overall cost. Additionally, as of December 1, 2023, AMA will raise the club charter dues as well as the processing fees for flying site owner certificates by $5.
The new club charter fee will be $45, and the year-round insurance coverage for your site owner will be $85 per certificate. Special event coverage (insurance certificates for specific events) will now be $30.
We greatly appreciate your understanding.
