During its meeting on October 25, 2025, the Executive Council approved a modest adjustment to the processing fees for Large Model Airplane/Helicopter permits and turbine waiver applications. We understand that any increase in cost is unwelcome, and the decision was made only after extensive discussion and careful consideration. Inflation and rising operational expenses continue to affect nearly every aspect of all our lives and, unfortunately, AMA is not immune to that.
The new processing fee for the Large Model Airplane/Helicopter Program is $35. This fee applies to new LMA/LMH permits or to the renewal of expired permits. There is no charge for renewals if the current permit is still active. The fee also applies to all new turbine waiver applications.
As of January 1, 2026, AMA will also assess a $3 convenience fee for any credit card or PayPal transaction.
