National Free Flight Society (NFFS) President David Lindley provided the following report about the upcoming Indoor Free Flight World Championships:
The US F1D team is preparing once again to return to the 2024 F1D World Championships in Slanic, Romania March 23-26, 2024.
Since 1961, Team USA has had an incredible record throughout the years in F1D World Championship competitions including:
- 21 Individual World Champions
- 16 Team Champions
- 5 Individual Junior World Champions (since 1992)
- 3 Junior Team Champions (since 1992)
This year, Team USA will be returning four previous (Steve Brown, Emily Guyette, John Kagan, and Kang Lee) and one reigning world champions (Brett Sanborn)! The Junior team was selected this past June and we have a strong lineup of Juniors, including Daniel Guo, Guha Ekambaram, and Elijah Rose. This gives us a full slate of competitors for both the Senior and Junior teams. With managers and support personnel, 13 people will be traveling Romania this year.

Is there a 2024 competition or exhibition schedule? I saw Float a few years ago at the Cleveland Film Festival and the week after there was a competition at the KSU Field House. I would love to see them flying again. Thanks.
