PROTECTION AGAINST UNWARRANTED SURVEILLANCE

Synopsis:            A6244 – Provides that no person or entity, working for or assisting a state, county, municipal or local government entity or authority, or acting on behalf of such entity shall use, operate, engage or employ an unmanned aerial vehicle to gather evidence related to an ongoing criminal matter without court authorization.

Definition of ‘unmanned aircraft’ would include MA

A6370 – Provides for limitations on the use of a drone by a person, entity, law enforcement agency, and state, county or municipal agency to gather, store or collect evidence of any type, including audio or video recordings, or both, or other information pertaining to criminal conduct or conduct in violation of a-statute or regulation. Definitions of ‘drone’ and ‘unmanned aircraft’ would include MA.

Specifically states the law does not prohibit the use… by a person for lawful purposes, including recreational or hobby purposes
