Jeff Thomas reports that the Indianapolis RC Modelers hosted its Fly All in the Fall fly-in event.
We had the best weather, and 24 registered pilots participated in the event. The club had a Best of Show award that was won by Damon Atwood with his large-scale OV-10 Bronco. The best part of the event was the large number of newcomers and visitors who attended.
Jeff Peca shares with us that the Fox Valley Aero Club in St. Charles, Illinois, held its first EDF Jet Event.
We had more than 30 pilots register and 70 jets at the event. Pilots from around the Chicagoland area and Wisconsin appreciated our 800-foot asphalt runway and beautifully manicured field. At lunch, we provided hot dogs and sides with jet-shaped cookies for dessert. A special thanks goes out to the “Real Housewives of Fox Valley West” for setting up the lunch.

Jeremy Church visited the Washington RC Aero Club of Washington, Indiana, for its Wings & Wheels Fly-In and Car Show event!
Perfect flying weather and pilots from Washington, Jasper, and Evansville, Indiana, filled the sky with everything from sleek, Scale warbirds to elegant gliders. Full-scale aircraft and classic cars dazzled on the main ramp, and spectators were shuttled out to the RC flightline on the grass runway, where the real high-flying action unfolded all day long!
RC pilots enjoyed front-row seats to full-scale aircraft taking off and landing, making for an unforgettable experience. More than 70 visitors stopped by and over 40 first-time fliers received buddy-box instruction.

Marty Kocman shares that the Memphis Prop Busters in Memphis, Tennessee, held a monthly float-fly from April through October. The photo below was taken at their final outing of the year.

Bill Spencer reports that at its October meeting, the Champaign County Radio Control Club (CCRC) in Champaign, Illinois, proudly presented graduation certificates to 11 more students from their 2025 flight training program.
This year’s program has welcomed participants from ages seven to 69, reflecting the club’s wide appeal across generations. With 30 graduates now certified, 2025 is shaping up to be the most successful year yet. Featured in the photo are our youngest and oldest active members—an inspiring 80 years apart in age!

Last but not least, Richard Altekruse reports that the Steuben Model Aircraft Klub of Pleasant Lake, Indiana, was requested to present a demonstration of RC airplanes to the 700-plus students of Dekalb Middle School in Waterloo, Indiana.
An indoor demonstration of airplanes was planned because of weather variabilities and was staffed by Pat Mattes and Dave Grife. Multiple airplane types were well received, and all three sessions of each grade (sixth, seventh, and eighth) were entertained.
The students then went outside to view a helicopter demonstration by Shane Reinhart. A static display was in place the day before the demonstrations. After the demonstrations, flight simulators were available for interested students. The school principal was ecstatic with the presentations.
