The Academy of Model Aeronautics is pleased to announce that the state of Arkansas has declared August 16, 2014, as Model Aviation Day. Thank you Stan Kopreski and the members of the Mid Arkansas Radio Control Society (MARCS), of Little Rock, AR for submitting the application for this proclamation.
National Model Aviation Day has been established by the Academy of Model Aeronautics—the country’s foremost organization for model aviation—to celebrate the history of model aviation and to promote the hobby on a national scale. The Academy will celebrate Indiana Model Aviation Day at its national headquarters in Muncie IN, along with AMA chartered clubs across the country.
Each of the participating clubs will promote model aviation and the many benefits of participating in the hobby. This nationwide event will also serve as a fundraiser to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. This organization aims to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members. All registered clubs are provided with access to the club resources page. This page provides details about how to obtain a state proclamation. If your club receives a proclamation please contact the AMA. We have also created a page on nationalmodelaviationday.org that shows a list of the current applications submitted, and will show other proclamations as they are received.
