PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Forty giant scale model planes will fly over the Sylvania Conservation Area in West Sunbury on Saturday.
The all-day event marks the 40th anniversary of the Butler Aircraft Modeling Society.
The Academy established a program in the mid-1960s for local AMA members to join together as a group and secure use of private, commercial or public property for flying sites. This was structured under the concept of organized groups, which were identified as AMA Chartered Clubs. Today, the Academy provides liability coverage to approximately 2,400 chartered clubs throughout the United States.
