It can be very difficult to talk about yourself and your accomplishments. Often we don\u2019t truly understand how impressive our accomplishments are because we\u2019re so focused on reaching the finish line. But when we finally get the chance to talk about the process and the many steps we must take to achieve our final goals, it becomes clear that we do great things at every stage of a project.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is why the UAS4STEM<\/a> Preliminaries<\/a> are an important part of the months-long competition. By the time the teams reach this stage of competition in late April, they\u2019ve been working for months to program their drone and prepare for their team presentation. And the AMA Education Team and guest judges love the UAS4STEM Preliminaries; we get the chance to see what impressive things the teams have done and are able to recognize all of their hard work thus far.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nineteen teams participated in the UAS4STEM 2024 Preliminary Competition across both the Beginner and Advanced Divisions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Twelve teams participated in the Beginner Division, and seven participated in the Advanced Division.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Please note that all teams listed below are listed in alphabetical order, and not in order of placement.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The teams that participated within the Beginner Division are: the 55 Hot Wings (Sterling, VA), the Bumblebees (Hawthorn Woods, IL), Chisholm Longhorns (Enid, OK), the Corntographers Bravo (Yorktown Heights, NY), the Flying Nuggets (Decatur, GA), Greenland Central (Greenland, NH), Neuqua Valley (Naperville, IL), Redstone Bravo (Huntsville, AL), Scio Flyers (Dexter, MI), Skyward Eagles (Apex, NC), St Mary’s CAP (Hollywood, MD), and the Teton Valley Crusaders (Tetonia, ID).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The teams that participated within the Advanced Division are: the 55 Knights (Sterling, VA), the Aerodactyls (Deerfield, IL), the Corntographers Alpha (Yorktown Heights, NY), the Hardin Valley AeroHawks (Lenoir City, TN), McIntosh Aeronautics (Peachtree City, GA), Redstone Alpha (Huntsville, AL), and Some Assembly Required (Mount Airy, MD).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The top-scoring teams from each division are invited to compete in the International Competition in July at\u00a0EAA AirVenture<\/a>\u00a0in Oshkosh, WI. Again, qualifying teams below are listed in alphabetical order, not in placement within the competition.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The teams who have been invited to attend the UAS4STEM Finals to compete in the Beginner Division are: the Corntographers Bravo, the Flying Nuggets, Neuqua Valley, the Skyward Eagles, St. Mary’s CAP, and the Teton Valley Crusaders. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The teams invited to attend the UAS4STEM Finals to compete in the Advanced Division are: 55 Knights, the Aeordactyls, the Corntographers Alpha, the Hardin Valley AeroHawks, McIntosh Aeronautics, Redstone Alpha, and Some Assembly Required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We would like to congratulate teams that participated in the Preliminary Competition who are not advancing to Finals. All the teams did amazing work, and they were able to prove how much time and effort they put into their drone and FRR. We encourage all UAS4STEM teams to continue working hard and preparing for their next steps-whether that is competing at Finals at AirVenture, preparing to compete in the 2026 UAS4STEM competition, or heading off into their own personal journeys to explore aviation in unique ways!\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2025 UAS4STEM International Finals will be held from Monday, July 21st through Wednesday, July 23rd at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, WI.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
